Let me introduce myself.

You can find me in and around Chicago where I am visiting family and friends and meeting with my freelance clients. I have just returned to the States from Bangkok, Thailand where I just finished up a year of teaching English at the college level. I have always wanted to travel so teaching in Southeast Asia was a way to see another side of the world and gain a new perspective on all facets of communication, especially in such a foreign environment.

Naturally I had a lot of time to think about my next career goal as well as a new chapter in education. I was unclear whether I would work toward a MBA in Innovative Design, or a Master’s in Graphic Design, so that I could teach. Fortunately over the course of the wonderful past year of countless adventures I have reached my conclusion; I am going to begin the MBA program in Innovation Design at Kendall College of Art & Design this coming October. While I return to higher education I intend on working full time as I fulfill my passion as a designer in a studio environment. To continue my interest in teaching I hope to share my passion for feeding the creative spirit by teaching after school drawing and painting classes to the city kids of Chicago for the Young Rembrandts.

English Lecturer
June 2009 to May 2010
Taught two written and six basic spoken English courses for two semesters for the Institute for English Language Education (IELE).
Assisted with pronunciation and proper context of dialogue by maintaining an open opportunity for English conversation on and off of campus.
Ensured that undergraduate students were prepared, for the FEOT and Test of English for International Communication, necessary for graduation.

Mobil Travel Guide
Graphic Designer
April 2008 to January 2009
Began as a temporary Production Director’s Assistant and within sixty days defined a full-time position as Graphic Designer.
Assisted with the publication and design of 7 National City Travel Guides, 15 Regional Travel Guides, 2 International City Travel Guides and 4 Affinity Themed Travel Guides.
Created a style guide for print which implemented new company design standards under the direct supervision of Senior Production Director and Chief Editor.
Conceptualized new company interface and advertising campaigns with the Front End Developer under supervision of Vice President of Online.

Conceptualized and critiqued case studies with Marketing Manager, Senior Graphic Designer and Principal Architect.
Laid out and produced collateral utilizing graphic and pre-press standards.
Implemented meta data image library system for Marketing and Architecture Departments.
